Serenity Senior Housing Apartments Amenities

In succeeding to create affordable housing in San Mateo County, EPA CAN DO and MidPen Housing have built Serenity Senior Housing. This development is a 41 unit apartment complex in East Palo Alto, CA for very-low and extremely low income seniors with the age of 62 and above. This development is affordable for seniors earning up to 60% of the Area Median Income. Construction was completed in 2017.

Serenity Senior Housing provides 36 one-bedroom units and 5 two-bedroom units. Due to a variety of space, the development also includes several amenities: a 1000-sf community room with kitchen, computer lab, and a laundry room on each floor. The outdoor community garden and barbeque area are also provided for seniors’ enjoyment. Serenity Senior Housing is located near the fire department, East Palo Alto Senior Center, local markets, restaurants, public library, and public transportation.

Serenity Senior Housing provides Health and Wellness Programming like educational workshops, group exercise classes, health fairs/health screens, food assistance programs like “Brown Bag”, and also provides Social Programming like bingo nights, holiday celebrations, and other social events.

Serenity Senior Housing provides a sense of pride for residents living in the units and pride to the community for having a building of this quality constructed in East Palo Alto. This project will benefit the community especially since there is very little senior housing in the area.
